Walk for Al 2015

Derek Brockway (Weatherman Walking) started the walk for us and boy did he bring the weather with him!

It was an absolutely beautiful day and the walk was really well attended.  Derek did a 'full on' weather forecast before he started the Ford Mountain Bike Club on their way and he then started the walk and actually took part himself.  We've raised about £2,000 so far but there are still sponsorships forms to come in.

Afan Forest Park - Log Cabin Fund

In 2008, we decided to start fundraising in order to build and maintain a multi-purpose log cabin at Afan Forest Park, situated on the other side of Garnwen Mountain.

It is hoped that the cabin will enable groups of disabled and able bodied people to enjoy short breaks and interest has been shown by many groups, including children with learning difficulties, carers, disadvantaged children, groups in need of respite and schools.

On April 30th 2012 Leah & Laura Griffiths flew out to Peru to trek to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.

The trek took place over 5 days and consisted of hard trekking in extreme conditions up to 9 hours a day; temperatures ranged from the high 80’s to below freezing and at altitude of 4800m above sea level.

It was a tough challenge but we were both determined to complete the trek to raise as much money as possible in memory of Alex & Bethan.
